Arthur Blank Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer

An Atlanta icon has been diagnosed with a treatable form of prostate cancer. Arthur Blank, best known in Atlanta as the owner of the Atlanta Falcons, revealed on Tuesday that he has known this information since December.

Blank made the following statement on Tuesday afternoon: “In December I was diagnosed with a treatable form of prostate cancer. Over the last several weeks Angie and I have visited a number of expert doctors and hospitals across the country to identify the best treatment options for me. I have chosen an aggressive approach that will include surgery and the overall prognosis is good. I’m looking forward to getting this behind me and continuing a very active lifestyle, my upcoming wedding, as well as continued active involvement in our businesses and philanthropic efforts for years to come.”

Blank, 73, is also known for co-founding the Home Depot, and he recently established the Atlanta United FC, an MLS expansion team that is set to begin play next year.

It is great to hear that he has received a positive prognosis. He has given so much to our community, and certainly everybody in the city of Atlanta will be praying for a full recovery for Mr. Blank. Get well soon, Arthur.
