Atlanta United cap off April with two awards

The month of April was arguably the best in Atlanta United’s short history. The club was unbeaten throughout the entire month, winning three of their four games and splitting a result with New York City FC. On top of the stellar form from the entire team, two things stood out from April: Miguel Almiron playing out of his mind, and Kevin Kratz proving himself as the free kick specialist. Both players were awarded for such.

In a 4-1 win over the Montreal Impact, Kevin Kratz gave the five stripes a 2-1 lead with a beautiful free kick that was nominated for MLS Goal of the Week.

As everyone has come to learn by now, when Atlanta is nominated for an award, the community has never failed to dominate the voting. This time around, nothing changed.

Miguel Almiron was awarded the MLS Player of the Month award after leading the team in this seven-game run by notching five goals and two assists. His performances put him on the MLS team of the week three times in a row, leading to the league recognizing him as player of the month.
