Braves Release Jason Frasor

Dave O’Brien of the AJC reported that the Braves have opted to cut ties with relief pitcher Jason Frasor.

Frasor was signed by the Braves on July 16th after being waived by the Royals early this season. With the Royals, Frasor appeared in 26 games and had a stellar 1.54 ERA. Due to an embarrasment of riches in the Royals bullpen, they chose to waive Frasor because he gave up too many baserunners. Wouldn’t that be a nice problem to have? The Braves picked up Frasor, and he appeared in 6 games for the team without giving up a run. He was a nice addition to a dreadful Atlanta bullpen, but a shoulder injury landed him on the DL earlier this August. Frasor has yet to return from the DL, and with the 2015 season being a lost cause, the Braves released the 38-year old reliever in order to perhaps give another young arm a chance.
