Vaugn Mcclure confirmed that Brooks Reed did undergo surgery on his groin that has hampered him throughout the off season.

The Falcons defense cannot seem to catch a break. Reed signed with the team on the first day of free agency and looked to be a major part of Quinn’s new revamped defense. He is locked in for 5 years with the Falcons and this is certainly not the way he wanted it to start off.
Groin injuries can be ones that linger for a while, and Mcclure alluded that it could be up to six weeks before we see Reed back on the football field.

Hopefully Reed can recover fully in a reasonable amount of time and get back on the football field sooner rather than later. The first-team defense looked like they made major strides this off season, but the news of Reeds injury is a huge blow.
