Falcons Sign Another Player to the Team

The Falcons have come to terms with former San Diego State defensive end Sam Meredith after rookie minicamp. Meredith stands at 6’4” and weighs in at 283 pounds. During the rookie minicamp last week, Meredith was a try-out player, and he proved to the coaches that he can play some football. He joins Jonathan Mincy and Matt Huffer as players added to the Falcons organization in the past week. If Meredith gets any playing time in Atlanta, I could see him playing as a 5-tech lineman. He was the strong-side defensive end at San Diego State, and he recorded 3.5 tackles for loss, forced two fumbles, and even blocked a kick with the Aztecs. It looks to be a move to strictly fill out the roster sheet. Look for Meredith to be playing for a practice squad spot. His game is not strong enough to be on the 53-man roster just yet. Just like Huffer and Mincy, Falcons fans wish Meredith nothing but the best of luck.
