Freeman, Frasor Headed to DL

Freddie Freeman has established a reputation as being an iron man thus far in his career with the Braves, playing in 162 games last season. The Braves usually don’t even carry an additional first baseman as he is usually on the field (Sorry, Chris and Kelly Johnson are not first baseman). Freddie said that his goal for 2015 was to play in all 162 games once again. His teammates need to give him a hug, because that’s not happening in 2015. For the second time of the season, Freeman has been placed on the DL:

This is a huge blow for the Braves coming off their most exciting win of the season. Just when the Braves seemed to be scoring runs again, the catalyst of the offense has gone down once again. The Braves don’t need to risk rushing back Freddie, so expect the team to use a safe approach with the face of the franchise. Get well soon Freddie!

Jason Frasor will also be placed on the DL as well with a shoulder injury. Signed last month, he has been a great addition to the bullpen. He’s yet to give up an earned run in 6 appearances for Atlanta.

Joey Terdoslavich and Ryan Kelly have been recalled from AAA Gwinnett.
