Tuesday night will be must-watch television for Braves fans. One of their most touted pitching prospects, Luiz Gohara, is set to make his MLB debut.

Gohara was acquired in an offseason trade with the Seattle Mariners involving Mallex Smith. With the acquisition of Ender Inciarte, the organization felt comfortable moving the speedster for an elite pitching prospect. It is still early, but this looks as if it could beone of the best trades of the rebuild.

The 21-year old southpaw continued to build on his breakout 2016 campaign he enjoyed in the Seattle farm system. He started his season in high-A ball and has now worked his way to the majors. For the season, he owns a 2.62 ERA and a 10.7 K/9 rate. He is one of the first tier pitching prospects the Braves have at their disposal, and now the fanbase will get a taste of what he can offer at the big league level.

Gohara’s debut has been anticipated for days now but it was not clear what type of role he would assume with the team after the way the team has managed Max Fried. But for the second time in three days, a Braves rookie will be making their first major league start. What a fun time for Braves fans.
