Matt Wisler to Make MLB Debut Friday Versus Mets

The Braves have officially called up Matt Wisler to start Friday against the Mets. This coming just a day after the Braves announced Mike Foltynewicz had been sent back down to AAA. Folty showed glances of brilliance in his 9 starts in the majors, but his lack of control and consistency resulted in the change. Wisler was acquired by the Padres in the trade that sent Craig Kimbrel to San Diego. He owns the #1 spot on our prospect list, and Braves fans everywhere should be excited to watch this guy take the mound. Wisler is a guy with a multitude of good pitches and has great control. He strikes out a ton of guys and should be a thrill to watch on Friday. For now the move is “temporary”, but if Wisler pitches well, he will be in the majors for good. He has front line starter potential and is the bright future of the Braves starting rotation.
