Mike Foltynewicz injured, Soroka set to make his first start off the DL

It looked like Mike Foltynewicz was well on his way to another stellar outing Tuesday night. After throwing five scoreless innings of two hit ball with six strikeouts, Folty was mysteriously pulled after his at-bat in the bottom half of the inning.

During the middle of the game, it was reported Foltynewicz was removed from the game due tightness in his triceps. Fortunately, it looks like the issue is nothing serious.

Nothing more than a precaution, hopefully, but you can never be to careful. Especially with a guy like Folty, who has only allowed two earned runs in his last three starts and has a streak of seven straight starts without allowing more than two earned runs.

In better news, Mike Soroka will make his first since heading to the DL with soreness in his arm. Like Folty, Soroka’s absence seemed more due to precautionary reasons. With veteran Julio Teheran now on the DL, the Braves will be relying on Soroka as they boast a one-game lead over the Nationals. In three starts, Soroka has posted a 1-1 record with a 3.68 ERA. He faced the Mets in his major-league debut and went six innings allowing one earned run in a win. He will be facing Mets ace Jacob De Grom Wednesday night.
