Although we won’t be posting a video for this week, there was just too much going on this week to not at least write about it.

Atlanta Hawks

Wednesday, the Atlanta Hawks and former NBA Coach of the Year Mike Budenholzer agreed to part ways. Although it’s not an ideal situation for Hawks fans, it had to be expected when the front office decided to undergo a rebuild.

Since then, the Hawks have received permission to meet with Portland Trail Blazers assistant Nate Tibbetts, and he will be a serious candidate to take the reigns as the new head coach of the Hawks (reported by Adrian Wojnarowski).

Atlanta United FC

Atlanta United completely shut down Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the LA Galaxy on Sunday. It was a completely dominant performance from the Five Stripe back line, as they held the Galaxy to just one shot on target. Ezequiel Barco returned to the lineup for United and did a lot of great things.

Since then, the team has been training hard this week for Saturday’s match against the Montreal Impact. The team is not 100% healthy, but fans should expect to see Franco Escobar and Tito Villalba return to the starting line up in a short time.

Atlanta Falcons

This week is the week of the 2018 NFL draft, and the Falcons have made a splash so far in the first two days.

As Chase Irle previously reported, the Falcons were in a great position to take the best available player in the first round, and that’s just what they did. With the 26th pick in the draft, the Falcons selected Calvin Ridley, a wide receiver from Alabama.

Update: Despite Defensive Tackle being a position of concern for fans, the Falcons seem to think otherwise.

With their second pick of the draft, the Atlanta Falcons selected Isaiah Oliver, a cornerback out of Colorado.

Experts have given Atlanta an A+ draft grade for both picks so far, and it will be interesting to see how the rest of the draft plays out.

Atlanta Braves

The greatly anticipated arrival of Ronald Acuna Jr. finally came to fruition as the 20-year-old was finally called up to join the Braves.

As one of the top prospects in the MLB, expectations were set pretty high for the Venezuelan, and he jumped on the scene in a big way.

The Braves dropped two of four games to the Reds in Cincinnati.
