After a 3-0 victory in their Mercedes Benz debut, the Five Stripes are ready to quickly turn back around. United are set to kick off for the first time against the New England Revolution at 7:00 pm on Wednesday night as the home side will be looking to keep a seven-match unbeaten streak alive.

Atlanta United (11-8-6)
Atlanta United’s first match on their new stomping ground went about as good as it possibly could’ve gone. Many fans were worried about the transition from grass to turf, but the team quickly shut down any negative thoughts we had about leaving Bobby Dodd. A Leandro Gonzalez-Pirez goal was the first of a three goal match that made the Mercedes-Benz debut that much better.
But not only was the team on point, the crowd was too – better than any match in Bobby Dodd. A sold out stadium of 45,314 screaming fans turned Mercedes-Benz into the most hostile environment the MLS has to offer. Here’s how the supporters reacted to the historic goal:

The South American Designated Player trio of Josef Martinez, Miguel Almiron and Tito Villalba absolutely showed off and were responsible for all three goals. The stellar performance was enough for Tata Martino to admit that it was the team’s best performance of the season. Along with the attack, Brad Guzan and the Atlanta United defense will also be looking to build on their shutout performance tonight against the Revs.
New England Revolution (10-12-5)
The Revolution are in the midst of a frustrating season as they have racked up 10 wins at Gillette Stadium, but have yet to take three points on the road through thirteen matches this season (0-10-3). Needless to say, a trip to Mercedes-Benz Stadium is not one that any team – especially the Revs – want to make.
The Revs have a pretty dangerous duo in their attack with Lee Nguyen and Kei Kamara. Nguyen has nine goals and 14 assists already this season, making him one of the best MLS midfielders of all time with 51 goals and 52 assists in his career. Kamara has 11 goals and four assists so far and is still looking to prove himself after being snubbed from the 2017 MLS All Star roster.
New England is desperately looking to take some points on the road as they try to sneak into the playoff picture. If things continue to trend the way they have been, Atlanta won’t be the place to start.
