Braves 2023 Potential Free Agent Targets: Left Field

Braves Joc Pederson

This begins a series where I will go over all the potential free agent targets for the Braves. As we move on with the offseason, I’ll give more of my opinions on a lot of these guys, but for now, I’ll just be presenting all the options. Also, I’ll only be focusing on positions where the Braves have holes — like shortstop, left field, bullpen etc.

Potential Left Field Free Agent Targets

Outside of shortstop, I think left field is the most pressing need heading into the offseason for the Braves. Atlanta will definitely also need to add to their bullpen, but outside of that, they are pretty set everywhere else. Marcell Ozuna and Eddie Rosario can’t be counted on as starters going into next year. I don’t expect the Braves to go crazy, but there are several options that could be added to the mix that would give Brian Snitker a lot more flexibility.

I would love for the Braves to bring back Adam Duvall, and he’s a candidate for a one-year deal now that he’s coming off a significant wrist injury. Joey Gallo is another interesting option that could be open to signing a prove-it contract. Andrew Benintendi and Joc Pederson are more proven left fielders, but they will also likely be looking for multi-year contracts. I’m not sure the Braves will oblige, but both would be significant upgrades over their current situation.
