Draft Kings just released their favorites for the NL Cy Young, and two Braves made the list — Max Fried, who has the tenth-best odds, and Charlie Morton, who has the thirteenth-best odds.

Mike Soroka would likely also be on this list if he were 100% healthy. But with it being unknown whether or not he will begin the season on the Injured List, it’s understandable why he was not included.

Fried finished sixth in the NL Cy Young voting last season, but I would say the arms listed in front of him are all ultra-talented and deserving. Morton finished third in the AL Cy Young voting in 2019 in which he recorded a 3.05 ERA and 240 strikeouts in 194.2 innings.

I don’t think I would place any cash on any Braves pitcher to win the NL Cy Young, however. Fried, Morton, and even Soroka could all have fantastic seasons, but I don’t see any of them being dominant enough over 162 games to take home the award. Meanwhile, I think you are getting unbelievable value with Jacob DeGrom.

I understand DeGrom is the favorite, which may shy some away; however, +500 is still fantastic odds for the best pitcher in baseball. He’s had five fully-healthy seasons, and he’s never landed outside the top-ten in Cy Young voting — finishing first twice. Hell, DeGrom’s won two of the last three Cy Young awards, and if last season consisted of a full 162-game schedule, regression likely would have hit Bauer, and DeGrom would have won again. I’m getting that bet in as we speak. This is tremendous value.
