Braves: Pache, Anderson and Waters make Baseball America’s latest Top 100 list

The lack of a minor league season last year sure didn’t hurt the Braves three most exciting prospects as outfielders Cristian Pache and Drew Waters, as well as right-handed pitcher Ian Anderson were listed inside the top 100 of Baseball America‘s preseason list.

At no. 7 on BA’s list, Pache is the sixth-best prospect hitter in baseball and third-best outfielder, followed by Waters who comes in at no. 32 overall. Right behind Pache is no. 8 ranked Anderson, who’s considered the second-best prospect pitcher in a top 10 that consists of just three arms.

The three Atlanta prospects receiving such high remarks is great news for the Braves organization; however, it is a bit disappointing that nobody else cracked the Top 100. Although at this point prospect rankings really shouldn’t be taken too seriously, given most of the players featured on the list didn’t even play in 2020.

Regardless, even if the Braves aren’t as well represented in this year’s pre-season list, BA’s prospect analysis is certainly worth the look. The site does operate behind a pay-wall, but at just a few dollars per month, the price is definitely worth the bevy of insider content available. And who knows, by mid-season the list could feature many more Atlanta prospects.

Both Pache and Anderson are expected to be part of the Braves 2021 opening day roster, while Waters is most likely slated to start in the outfield for the Triple-A Gwinnett Stripers. All three are set to have huge seasons.
