For almost his entire career, Max Fried has been one of the best lefties in all of baseball. Part of that comes from his incredible performance after the All-Star break — including the postseason:

For his career, Fried is an incredible 13-0 in August with a 2.22 ERA over 109.1 innings. The domination isn’t limited to August. Fried has a 17-6 record with a 2.62 ERA and 9.2 strikeouts per nine innings over 199 career second half innings. In September and October, Max has a 2.80 ERA over 99.2 innings. Anything after the All Star Break belongs to Max Fried.

We’ve seen Fried show up in the postseason, too. He had a very impressive debut against the Dodgers in 2018 before turning up the heat in 2020 and eventually sealing the 2021 World Series after having his ankle stepped on.

Fried is up to 57.2 career postseason innings — he’s only going to continue improving with more experience. Braves fans should be excited — this is the time when your ace truly turns it up a notch.
