Braves Top 30 Prospect List (Post-Spring Training)

Though Spring Training is technically still going on, most of the guys featured on this list have been reassigned to minor league camp or designated to their respective affiliate. This Spring gave us a great opportunity to see our top young talent in action against major league hitting and pitching, and the results spoke for themselves. The future looks real bright for the Braves, and there was enough shown in these few weeks to cause some movement on our prospect list. Let’s take a look:

1. Dansby Swanson
2. Sean Newcomb
3. Kolby Allard
4. Ozhaino Albies
5. Mallex Smith
6. Aaron Blair
7. Manny Banuelos
8. Max Fried
9. Tyrell Jenkins
10. Austin Riley
11. Lucas Sims
12. Touki Toussaint
13. Chris Ellis
14. Mike Soroka
15. Rio Ruiz
16. Braxton Davidson
17. Dustin Peterson
18. Derian Cruz
19. John Gant
20. Rob Whalen
21. Ricardo Sanchez
22. Juan Yepez
23. Ronald Acuna
24. Lucas Herbert
25. Christian Pache
26. Daniel Winkler
27. Zach Bird
28. Jesse Biddle
29. Andrew Thurman
30. AJ Minter

I moved Ozzie Albies up a couple spots, I can really see the Rafael Furcal comparisons now and he appears to be closer to MLB ready than many initially thought. This explains why the team was willing to part ways with Jose Peraza last season. Ronald Acuna is a guy who drew great reviews so I put him on the list, and I think he has a lot of room to grow and move up this list fast. Jesse Biddle was claimed off waivers and is a former top prospect, but will not pitch in 2016. Not too much movement this Spring, but it further verified how talented our farm has become.
