Braves top prospect leaves Spring Training game with injury

MLB: JUL 24 Reds at Braves

Right now, the Braves are in the beginning stages of a Spring Training contest with the Washington Nationals. Unfortunately, top infield prospect Nacho Alvarez Jr. has already been removed from the game with what the Braves are calling right wrist discomfort after he appeared to be wincing in pain following a swinging strikeout.

Alvarez, who exploded onto the scene last season as a prospect and even experienced a cup of coffee at the major-league level, was never likely to make the Opening Day roster, but he’s a young player the Braves are really excited about in the future. Hopefully, this is just a minor injury that won’t linger into the regular season. 2025 will be a pivotal year for his development.
