The Braves chose to option Kyle Wright to AAA Gwinnett after his poor start on Friday versus the Mets. The 23-year old first-round pick out of Vanderbilt showed promise throughout spring training, earning his spot in the starting rotation to begin the year. But his first three starts left much to be desired.

Wright went 0-2 with a 7.07 ERA, allowing four home runs and walking ten. It’s indisputable how high his ceiling is, but there’s also no questioning he could use a little more time in the minor leagues. In his place, the Braves recalled Touki Toussaint.

Toussaint made his debut in Atlanta last year, starting in five games and made the playoff roster. He throws in the mid to high 90s and features a filthy breaking ball. For now, it strengthens the Braves unimpressive bullpen, but Toussaint could find himself back in AAA once the team decides to recall Mike Foltynewicz from Gwinnett.
