For the first time since 2022, the Falcons had a primetime game, the latest being a Sunday Night Football contest against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs that followed a Monday Night Football showdown in Philadelphia for the Eagles home opener.
The Week 2 contest in Philly was Atlanta’s first MNF appearance since 2020, and coming into the contest, the club was the only winless team in primetime since 2021. The Falcons went 1-1 in the two-week stretch, but it’s abundantly clear that the Falcons are talented enough to hang with the big dogs.
Moreover, they’re actually a draw, no longer just the laughingstock of the NFL. The Falcons SNF game in Atlanta against the Chiefs was the most-watched Week 3 SNF game ever.

Granted, the Chiefs are a massive draw and remain one of the most profitable teams for the NFL, but it takes two to tango with these sorts of things. The Falcons did their part in making the Eagles contest an exciting watch, and it bled over to the SNF matchup.
The Falcons are never going to be the kind of club to draw national attention like the Packers, Cowboys, 49ers, etc., but the days of getting stuck with a pity Thursday Night Football slot against the lowly Panthers are over.
