The Falcons made their third cut of the offseason by letting go of veteran defensive end Brooks Reed. Reed announced it on Instagram Wednesday afternoon, thanking the Falcons for his four seasons in Atlanta.

Reed has been a constant on the defensive line as a rotational player since 2015. His toughness, effort, and veteran leadership were much appreciated by the organization. His best season came in 2017, where he started in 14 games, combined for 39 tackles, six of which went for a loss and four sacks. However, he was not nearly as effective in 2018, recording 24 tackles, zero for loss and one sack.
By letting Reed walk, the Falcons will save $4.5 million in cap space.
