Chris Morgan is another substantial name that’s departing, but Falcons fans everywhere were waiting for the news of Dirk Koetter’s dismissal. I reported earlier this month that he was moving back to Boise, but this officially seals the deal. Koetter provided some of the worst offenses the Falcons have seen in the Matt Ryan era, and it was a foregone conclusion that he would be coaching elsewhere in 2021. Hopefully, coach Smith brings in some talent. Dave Ragone has been rumored for the offense while Dean Pees and Jonathan Gannon are candidates to lead the defense. Either way, we know Smith will be calling the plays in Atlanta next year.Â
