With Deshaun Watson trade rumors running rampant, there was speculation about what Matt Ryan thought of this entire situation and whether or not he was blindsided. Well, according to reports, the Falcons did inform their veteran quarterback of their pursuit of Watson.
As @mortreport reported, the Falcons informed QB Matt Ryan last weekend that they were pursuing Deshaun Watson. The lines of communication have been kept open between Ryan and the Falcons.

Trading for Watson would all but end Ryan’s career in Atlanta, which has been nothing short of incredible. Ryan — much like Freddie Freeman, who is also on his way out of Atlanta — has represented this city and organization with the utmost class. It is just nice to see the new Falcons regime handling this the right way by keeping Matt Ryan in the loop.
