Despite an injury-marred 2019 season, the Falcons’ safety group remains a strong suit heading into 2020. Earlier this offseason, we learned that Keanu Neal was on track in his rehab to return for the upcoming season. Now, we have received similar news regarding free safety Ricardo Allen:

Keep in mind that Allen is not yet fully recovered but should be ready in plenty of time for the start of the year after he underwent shoulder surgery in January. Between this procedure and the torn Achilles Allen suffered in 2018, compounded with Keanu Neal’s injury issues, the Falcons have prepared the roster for the worst. Damontae Kazee can play either safety spot, and they just spent a mid-round pick on Jaylinn Hawkins. If their starting duo can return to form, they should be in excellent shape, but the group will likely excel regardless of the circumstances due to its depth.
