Falcons Sign DeMarcus Love

According to ESPN’s Falcons reporter Vaugn Mcclure, the Falcons have signed offensive tackle DeMarcus Love.

The signing is a minor one, as Love has yet to ever see any NFL action. He is in the 4th year of his career after being undrafted out of Arkansas. The move is purely for depth, and hopefully the Falcons will not have to be playing tight ends at the tackle position this season.

The more interesting part of this signing is what effect, if any, does this move have on any other possible offseason acquisitions. The Falcons still have plenty of cap space and recently worked out 4-time pro-bowl tackle Jake Long. Long has been battling injuries in recent seasons, but is miles better than Love and has significant NFL experience. However, the signing of Love likely means there will be no Jake Long experiment in Atlanta.
