Even before his start on Friday against the Giants, Max Fried has been a man on a mission in August. Unless something changes, Fried will continue his undefeated streak as a starter in August games.

Fried finished August of 2021 with another impressive performance:
Fried (August 2021): 4-0, 33.0 IP, 5 ER, 2 BB, 28 K, 0.818 WHIP, 1.36 ERA, .208 BA
Fried (August Career): 13-0, 109.1 IP, 27 ER, 28 BB, 109 K, 1.12 WHIP, 2.22 ERA, .234 BA
Not to mention, Fried is hitting .444/.444/.556/1.000 in August of 2021, which means he’s greatly outperforming his competition at the plate. His career numbers are just as good, hitting .348/.375/.478/.853 when the calendar turns from July. I think it’s safe to say that August Max Fried is one of the best pitchers (and maybe hitters) in all of baseball.
