Hawks General Manager Travis Schlenk had some good news on the injury front this morning via 92.9 The Game, saying that Bogdan Bogdanovic has been dealing with tendinitis in his right knee. He noted that Bogi likely wouldn’t be 100% this series, but he’s getting close to 90%, which should be music to the ears of Hawks fans everywhere.

With Trae Young’s bone bruise, the Hawks will be looking for an offensive breakout game from Bogi as he’s struggled thus far in the Eastern Conference Finals. In Game 3, he had much more lift on his shots than in the previous two games of the series, but the shooting splits were still unsightly — 3/16 from the field and 2/10 from deep. In 27 minutes per game, Bogi has shot 25% from the field and from beyond the arc in the ECF. However, the simple fact that he was so much more willing to shoot in the third game of the series should be taken as a positive sign that he’s feeling more comfortable.

The Hawks got to this point with a healthy Bogi, and I truly don’t think anyone in Atlanta believes this team can make it past the Bucks without him. He’s an important piece to this team both offensively and defensively, so this news that he’s nearing 100% is magnificent.
