Hawks: De’Andre Hunter and Trae Young could return by the end of the week

It was an exciting moment last night when Kris Dunn took the court for the first time as a member of the Hawks after missing the entire season with a knee injury. He may not have scored any points, but he’ll be a critical piece to Atlanta’s second unit as the season winds down and into the playoffs.

In even better news, the Hawks could have two starters return to the floor by the end of the week. During an interview with 92.9 The Game this morning, Travis Schlenk said both De’Andre Hunter and Trae Young are close to returning.

Schlenk also said the shoulder injury Kevin Huerter suffered is not believed to be serious, and Lou Williams is feeling better after missing last night’s game with flu-like symptoms.

In a season where absolutely nothing has gone right for the Hawks injury-wise, I’m not going to count my chickens before they hatch. However, it seems like we are inching closer to finally having the full squad healthy for a game, which has not happened all season. And with there being just a few weeks before the playoffs begin, it could not come at a better time.
