Hawks: De’Andre Hunter participated in 3-on-3 workouts without any setbacks

After Travis Schlenk’s comments a couple of days ago, when he told 92.9 The Game that De’Andre Hunter still wasn’t comfortable playing on the knee injury that has kept him out the last half of the season, it was fair to wonder if he would ever return. There are still no guarantees, but it does appear that he is doing his best to get back on the floor before the postseason begins.

Yesterday, Nate McMillan told the media that Hunter played some 3-on-3 without any setbacks and will continue to work his way back this weekend.

I’m still a bit bearish on Hunter returning before the end of the season, and even if he does, it will be extremely challenging for him to pick up where he left off and get back into game shape after such an extended layoff. However, if he can come back at any point before the end of the season, there’s a chance he can make an impact in the playoffs. Perhaps not in the first round, but Hunter could prove to be another critical piece to a team that looks to be hitting their stride if the Hawks can advance.
