Hawks ink Quinn Cook to two-year deal

The Hawks have brought in former Duke stud Quinn Cook to a two-year deal on Sunday, per Shams Charania:

Cook went undrafted in the 2015 NBA Draft and has had short stints with the Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans. He was waived by New Orleans back in July.

The Hawks have made it known they were searching for another point guard to add to the fold, and Cook will compete with Malcolm Delaney for the backup spot.

Though Cook has had very limited NBA action, he really stood out against Atlanta in Summer League play. Overall, he averaged 21.2 points per game in his action this summer. Yes, it is summer league, but Cook looked primed to crack a rotation this season, and Atlanta desperately needs a backup.

Assuming this deal is for the league minimum, Cook and Luke Babbitt could be nice late additions who end up impacting the rebuilding Hawks this year for nickels on the dime.
