In a press release from the Atlanta Hawks, they officially diagnosed Kevin Huerter with a left rotator cuff strain with an associated capsule strain. The team said he will begin rehabbing and be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Huerter suffered the injury in Tuesday’s win over the Nuggets. Early in the third quarter, he went up for a jump shot and was hacked hard on the arm by a much larger man in Nikola Jokic. Huerter immediately began grabbing his shoulder and exited to the locker room.

His loss adds to a long list of issues the Hawks have had to deal with early this season. Trae Young’s missed a few games; John Collins is suspended for PEDs; Kevin Huerter began the year hurt; Allen Crabbe has yet to make his debut; Evan Turner is injured, and now Huerter will miss some time. Somehow, they are still hanging in there at 4-6, but for the Hawks to keep their playoff hopes alive, Trae Young is going to have to continue his MVP caliber play.
