Hawks: Trae Young finally gets some respect in Bleacher Report’s best players under 24 list

When it comes to ranking players, Trae Young is often slighted by national media outlets, which is why he still carries a chip on his shoulder despite all the things he has accomplished in his young career. Perhaps it is because most people are too stubborn to recognize their pre-draft notions were incorrect; many remain hesitant to give Young his proper respect. Well, that wasn’t the case with Bleacher Report and their list of the top players under the age of 24, where Young came in third, behind just Luka Doncic and Jayson Tatum.

I think you could make the argument that any one of Doncic, Tatum, or Young is deserving of the top spot. At just 22-years-old, Doncic was widely considered the favorite to take home his first NBA MVP trophy this season. Meanwhile, both Tatum and Young have already been the leaders of teams that have made the Conference Finals.

Regardless, it’s clear that Young, Tatum, and Doncic have separated themselves from the rest of the pack as far as players under 24 go. They are on another tier than the rest of the names on this list. However, Ja Morant is already making a case to join them early this season, and Williamson could also be there soon if he can ever stay healthy.
