Jarret Jack Signs A One-Year Deal With The Hawks

Atlanta’s search for a third point guard to compliment Dennis Schroder and recently signed Malcolm Delaney has come to an end. The Hawks signed veteran point guard Jarrett Jack to a one-year contract for the veteran minimum. At 32, Jack is coming off a season-ending knee injury that cost him most of last season. Jack started in all 32 games that he played in for the Nets last year and quietly put up very nice numbers. He averaged 12.8 points, 7.8 assists and 4.3 rebounds.

Jack made his decision public with this tweet to the Atlanta fans.

The Hawks will be the eighth different NBA team that Jack has played for in his career. While he has bounced around the league, his play has remained quite consistent whether he is a starter or a role player off the bench. He can score in bunches, limits his turnovers and is an effective playmaker. He busted onto the national stage in his college days with Georgia Tech. With Schroder set to take the reigns as the starting point guard, Jack will likely assume the initial role as the backup point guard.
