Paris Johnson Jr. names Falcons as a team he wants to play for

The NFL Draft is just a few weeks away, and the Falcons are in an ideal spot. They hold the 8th pick, and they don’t have any glaring holes on the roster, which will allow them to take the best player available. Everything is on the table for Atlanta. They could address any level of their defense with a prospect like Christian Gonzalez or Tyree Wilson. Offensively, Bijan Robinson makes a lot of sense as another weapon for Desmond Ridder, and their offensive line could also use some work.

There are three tackles that will likely be taken within the first 15 picks on April 27th — Paris Johnson Jr. Peter Skoronski, and Broderick Jones. The Falcons don’t necessarily need a tackle with Jake Matthews and Kaleb McGary in the fold, but they do need a left guard, so perhaps one of these prospects could assume those duties over the first couple of years of their career until the Falcons move off of either Matthews or McGary.

On the latest episode of the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast, featuring Taylor Lewan and Will Compton, top tackle prospect Paris Johnson Jr. stopped by, and they asked him his three preferred landing spots. The Falcons were one of them.

Falcons fans should love the sound of that. They should also love the fact that Johnson said he wouldn’t mind at all playing guard if a team asked him to do so. With Elijah Wilkinson recently signing with the Cardinals, Atlanta needs to find an answer at guard, and Johnson could provide that in the first round of the draft.
