Allen Bailey was a candidate that looked to be on the chopping block coming into the offseason, given the Falcons tight cap situation, but Dan Quinn and company evidently liked what he offered in his first year with the team. They opted to hold onto him for at least 2020 and even gave him a one-year extension for 2021, likely saving the team money for this season — ESPN’s Vaughn Mcclure reported this morning.

Mcclure also confirmed the Falcons did restructure some of Bailey’s 2020 salary into a signing bonus, as it was reported earlier in the week. The former Kansas City Chief doesn’t offer a ton as far as the pass rush but was a key cog in defending the run for Atlanta last season.
