Rumors have swirled around that Travis Schlenk has made an effort to part with Kent Bazemore and his contract. Apparently, the Rockets are interested in the defensive-first wing.

Kelly Iko of Rockets Wire has reported that the Rockets covet a defensive player. She speculates a move surrounding Bazemore, Anderson and the Rockets 2019 first-rounder as a possibility.

If Travis Schlenk gets this offer, he should take it. The Hawks already have a lot of minutes to divide up at the 2 with Tyler Dorsey, Kevin Huerter and Vince Carter already on the roster. They could also use the services of another big man, and Ryan Anderson could at the very least be a spacing player for Trae Young to help his development. Anderson could be a great tank piece.

Both contracts expire at the end of the 2019-20 seasons, but the Hawks would take on a few million on the cap the next two years. That is worth a second round pick.

It is also worth mentioning that the article mentioned that the Pelicans were interested as well, but that Atlanta has no interest in taking back the deal of Solomon Hill.

This article is merely speculation, but a trade surrounding these two players is definitely not out of the realm of possibilities. Both teams have looked to part ways with these players as neither has lived up to the value of their deals signed after the cap spike.
