Should The Braves Make A Move For Yasiel Puig?

Yasiel_Puig_2

The Los Angeles Dodgers have officially made Yasiel Puig available. Poor guy, he replaced Kemp as the flavor of the week in LA, now rookie stud Joc Pederson has replaced him. Puig always seems to hurt the Braves, hitting his first career walk off against them in 2013. He also hit a grand slam off of Cory Gearrin. Puig is batting .253 with 6 HRs in an injury shortened season. However, in 2013 he hit .296 and .319 his rookie year. His career 41 Home Runs is impressive; complimented by his cannon of an arm. So, should Atlanta make a move for the 24 year old Cuban? I say yes, BUT for the right price. Here’s a possible scenario:

The Atlanta Braves send Julio Teheran, Williams Perez, Alec Grosser, and Braxton Davidson to the Los Angeles Dodgers for Yasiel Puig.

This is my price. If the Dodgers ask for too much more; I say no thanks. If they would accept this offer; I’d be happy to send these guys their way. Puig is an excellent player; however, he has a poor attitude, and WILL walk for more money. Davidson and Grosser are nice prospects, while Perez is a developing starter. The Dodgers have been looking for a big name starter; that’s where Teheran comes into play. Teheran has struggled this season for the Braves after an all-star season last year. However, his youth, talent and friendly contract make him valuable in the eyes of the league. Like I said; I would not be willing to budge and give more for Yasiel.

The Braves are looking towards the future, but Puig is a young player who should be good for years to come who’s simply a buy-low candidate right now.
