Georgia is going to come out with an edge after Vanderbilt backed out of Senior Day in Athens last season. I expect Kirby Smart to remind them of that and run it up.
Rutgers (+18) @ Michigan
What’s the rule, kids? Greg Schiano is addicted to covering. We’re going to find out if his turnaround at Rutgers is for real. If it is, look away, Tennessee fans.
North Carolina (-12) @ Georgia Tech
Georgia Tech kept up with Clemson, but I think UNC has too much offense for them. With Tech coming off of an emotional game and UNC putting 59 on Virginia, I think this is one of the safer bets.
Iowa State (-6.5) @ Baylor
I think Iowa State is about to hit their stride; this is always the time of year when Matt Campbell seems to heat up.
Wyoming (-12.5 1H) @ UCONN
UConn is god awful. I will be fading them until further notice

Mississippi State vs. LSU (Over 57)
Despite an abundance of talent, LSU’s defense hasn’t been the same since Ed Orgeron took over. Meanwhile, their offense has become a juggernaut, and they seem to have gotten better each week. Mike Leach will air it out and had a ton of success last season against the Tigers. This might be my favorite bet of the week.
Texas A&M (+5.5) at Arkansas
Everything about my gut tells me Arkansas is going to pull off another upset at home. Like many, I think they could win this one straight up based on what I’ve seen from both of these teams to this point. Unfortunately, the public seems to be on my side, as a remarkable 70% of bettors are on the Pigs. Because of that, I’m fading my own brain and taking the Aggies.
Clemson (-10) at NC State
Clemson’s burned me twice this season, and I’ve accepted they just aren’t as good as they’ve been in years past. Still, the public is hammering NC State, so I’m going to take the Tigers again. If this offense figures some things out, they will cover this number with ease.
Florida (-19) vs. Tennessee
This could be a total trap bet, especially with Florida coming off such a pivotal matchup against Alabama last Saturday. However, the Vols are miserable, and the Gators are at home. I’ll lay the 19 points and hope Florida shows up.
Kentucky (-5) vs. South Carolina
South Carolina is not a good team, and even though Kentucky struggled with Chattanooga last week, I still think they are the third-best team in the SEC East. They should roll this weekend.
North Carolina (-12) at Georgia Tech
North Carolina found their stride offensively against Virginia, putting up a whopping 59 points. I don’t think the Yellow Jackets can keep up.
Larsen Griffeth
Wisconsin (-6.5) vs. Notre Dame
This opened at a much smaller number and has grown since getting some love in Vegas. I just haven’t been impressed with Notre Dame recently, and this Wisconsin team is better than they showed in Week 1 against Penn State. I’m going to follow the sharps on this one and take the Badgers in Camp Randall.
Georgia (-20.5 1H) at Vanderbilt
Kirby Smart tends to take his foot off the gas against under-matched opponents somewhere around the middle of the third quarter, so I’ll stay away from the full game line. But this should be a breeze in the first half for the Dawgs. The fact that I’m getting less than three touchdowns makes this easy. I don’t expect Vanderbilt to score, especially in the first half when Georgia’s first team is playing.
Kentucky (-5) at South Carolina
I’ll be the first to admit; the Cats usually lay an egg in a spot like this. But I don’t think this South Carolina team is any good, and they keep flip-flopping who starts at QB. This has the potential to be the best Kentucky team in a long time, and last week’s close game against Chattanooga is proof that Mark Stoops has been preparing his team for this exact game for weeks now. Kentucky will come out on fire.
BYU (-13.5 1H) vs USF
This is just a numbers play for me. BYU is better than many people expected, and they’re playing at home in a crazy environment against a reeling USF team. This season, USF hasn’t covered the first-half spread against their two FBS opponents, while BYU is 3-0 against the spread in the first half and coming off a good win against Arizona State. I’ll take the Cougars to jump out to an early lead.
Hawaii (-17) at New Mexico State
As far as awful teams go, the two worst are UConn and New Mexico State. Fade this team any chance you can. Hawaii laying 17 points is not enough, and I’ll be looking to throw them in a teaser also. Go Rainbow Warriors!
MTSU at Charlotte (under 57)
Here’s a Friday night bet for you. This total is just too high, especially in a game that features two teams ranked in the Top 30 in defensive rating. Charlotte has had a really tough time finding success through the air. MTSU is ranked near the bottom in finishing drives that go past midfield. Two offenses that haven’t been great and don’t score a ton of points. Take the under in Charlotte on Friday night.

We are down bad. The only game I hit on last week was Michigan State, who was an underdog against Miami. The rest of them were favorites… losers. I am a self-proclaimed NFL guy, so check out those locks cause I am red hot. For college, we are going to go with what is working — the underdog.
LSU at Mississippi State (Over 56.5)
I have to throw something down on my Tigers, but I am unsure which team will show up Saturday. Max Johnson looks more and more comfortable each week, so I fully expect the Bayou Bengals to put up some points with a Kayshon Boutte, Jack Bech, and Deion Smith receiving core. Unfortunately, I don’t know which LSU defense is going to show up. Mike Leach dropped 600+ yards, and what seemed like a billion touchdowns on the Tigers last year, so the only logical option here is the over.
Michigan vs. Rutgers (+18)
I love that Greg Schiano is back in Jersey; it’s where he belongs. I love how Rutgers plays under him and absolutely hate how the Wolverines play under Jim Harbaugh. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a one-score game; Michigan loves to play these games they should easily win closely.
Arkansas (+3 1H) vs. Texas A&M
It is going to be a beautiful Saturday in Fayetteville. Sam Pitman has got the Hogs playing like they have nothing to lose, and though I think the Aggies pull it out in the end, the first half is going to be grueling. I expect it to be a hard-fought battle, especially in the first half.
Alabama (-24.5 1H) vs. Southern Miss
Okay, I had to go with one favorite that is always there for you when you’re going through a rough patch. The Tide covers first halves at an alarming rate. Take the free money.
