SportsTalkATL’s College Football Gambling Locks: Week 12

Season Record: 34-23

Michigan State(+19) @ Ohio State

Wow, talk about some disrespect? I don’t think the Spartans win it outright, but they arguably have the best player in college football in Kenneth Walker II. Sparty keeps it respectable, and I’ll take the cheese on the rattiest of rat lines.

Oregan @ Utah (-3)

This crazy college football season has a little bit of juice left in it. Oregon goes into Salt Lake City and gets knocked off, pushing the Cincinnati Bearcats into the playoffs, for now.

Georgia Tech @ Notre Dame (-17.5)

Tech is gonna get crushed two weeks in a row? Hate to see it. I hate to take a ton of huge favorites, but hey, it’s the end of the year.

Vanderbilt @ Ole Miss (-18.5 1H, -36.5) (u64.5)

Ole Miss can score, but I don’t think Vandy gets in the endzone very often against them. Ole Miss is 8-2 ATS this season, and they’ll handle Vanderbilt easily. Hammer this game every which way you can, and pray Ole Miss isn’t looking ahead to the Egg Bowl.

BYU (-19.5) @ Georgia Southern

Yes, you read that right; BYU is going to Statesboro. It hurts to fade my undergrad Alma Mater, but the Eagles are dealing with many key injuries. Hopefully, the fans show up for BYU because Packing Paulson may be the only way this one doesn’t get ugly.

Season Record (34-27)

Iowa State (+3.5) at Oklahoma

These teams are about even, and I’m not sure Oklahoma will get up for this one after losing out on their playoff hopes. Give me the Cyclones, and I like them straight up as well.

Clemson (-4.5) at Wake Forrest

A pretty crazy line here, which is exactly why I am taking unranked Clemson to beat Wake Forrest handily at home. The public is all over an underdog, which is never a good sign for that underdog.

Michigan (-15) at Maryland

Michigan is in a look-ahead spot, but they also control their own playoff destiny. For that reason, I expect them to be 100% focused on the task at hand and blow out Maryland.

Wisconsin (-9) vs. Nebraska

Nebraska has been a live dog in many games, but I can’t overlook how well Wisconsin is playing. I expect them to roll again this week.

Season Record (26-17-1)

Ohio State (-19) vs. Michigan State

I’m riding with the Buckeyes again. They are getting hot at the right time and will now face Michigan State’s horrible pass defense. They’ll roll once again. For the record, I also like Ohio State -10.5 1st half, as well as their team total over 43.5.

Clemson (-4.5) vs. Wake Forest

I hate that I have to do this, but I do. Vegas is telling you where to lean on this. Everyone is gonna back Wake here, and the line is too fishy. I’ll root for Wake, but Clemson gets it done.

Kansas State (+1) vs. Baylor

Speaking of fishy lines, this game will bait every dumb sports bettor and college kid in the country. The public is betting Baylor big time, and I’m not falling for the trap. K State can surprise teams at home, and Baylor is off a big win.

Vanderbilt (+37.5) at Ole Miss

I hate this pick so much, but I love the spot for Vandy. Ole Miss is off a big primetime home win, and you already know they can’t wait to get their hands on Mississippi State in next Thursday’s Egg Bowl. But here come the Commodores in a major sandwich spot. I’m not saying Vandy keeps it close or anything, but Ole Miss only has a few days to prepare for Miss State. They’ll rest their guys in the second half here.

Utah (-3) vs. Oregon

A huge Pac-12 showdown, and I think Utah gets up for it at home. I thought this spread should’ve been a pick, or maybe Oregon as a small favorite. The fact that Utah is the favorite tells me everything I need to know.

SMU vs. Cincinnati, under 65

Cincinnati has a really tough defense that has shown they can prevent some high-powered offenses from scoring. I think there will be a lot of feeling each other out to start the game.

Season Record (20-17)

Michigan State @ Ohio State (-19) (-10.5 1H)

Ohio State is one of the hottest teams in the country, and I believe they’re the third-best in all of college football. With the Mel Tucker extension news circulating, this is the perfect opportunity for Ryan Day & Co. to show the Big 10 who runs the conference.

Clemson (-4.5) at Wake Forrest

Clemson has played so poorly all season, one of the worst under Dabo Swinney; unfortunately, this is the best year in what seems like forever the Demon Deacons are competitive. The public is all over Wake Forrest, so I’ll ride with the Tigers — just a better roster, top to bottom.

Vanderbilt @ Ole Miss (-36.5) (-18.5 1H)

Ole Miss is better than Vandy in every facet; don’t overthink this one.

Michigan (-15) at Maryland

The Wolverines are hungry and in control of their own destiny. Jim Harbaugh will have his squad focused up in a must-win game. If Maryland covers, it is because Michigan is looking ahead.
