The Best Seat in the House

SunTrust Park is every bit of breathtaking. The stadium, along with the many attractions and restaurants around it make a visit to see the Braves an experience like no other.  From the Battery, to the Chop House, to the Waffle House, many people have shared their opinions on their favorite part of the new 1.1 Billion dollar park. However, there is a certain area that doesn’t seem to be getting enough recognition. With a capacity of 41,000, The Braves wanted to design the stadium to make every seat feel like “the best in the house.” Some people like to sit behind home plate, because of the incredible view and the feeling of being right in the action. Others like to sit near the dugout, as you can see the emotions on the player’s faces, and maybe even get an autograph. Lots of people prefer to sit in the outfield, in hopes of catching the game winning home run.

At SunTrust Park, the best seat in the house is in the outfield, right behind the right field foul post. This is where the POW/MIA memorial seat lies. The lone seat, which is guarded by two line ropes and a plaque, is another feature of the new park that will take your breath away. The plaque reads: “Since World War I, more than 92,000 American soldiers are unaccounted for. This unoccupied seat is dedicated to the memory of these brave men and women and to the sacrifices made in serving this country. God Bless You. God Bless America.” Chills, right?

These days, things like this are becoming harder to find. As a Braves fan, I am honored to support a team that recognizes the American heroes that is our military. God Bless our troops, and God Bless the Atlanta Braves.
