The Braves May Have Made The Trade Of The Year

Reports are coming in that the Braves have traded Shelby Miller and newly acquired Gabe Speier to the Diamondbacks for Ender Inciarte, Aaron Blair, and Dansby Swanson.

That package is:

Arizona’s #1 Pick in 2015 and #1 Prospect, SS Dansby Swanson

Arizona’s #3 prospect and #61 in MLB, RHP Aaron Blair

Arizona’s Stud Corner Outfielder, Ender Inciarte.

Let’s start with the big fish:

SS Dansby Swanson: #1 Overall Pick in 2015, (I wrote a post previously about trying to acquire him), #10 prospect in Major League Baseball. Hit .289 in rookie ball.

LF Ender Inciarte: 24 years old. 2015: .303, 6 HRs, 21 SBs. +5 Defensive WAR. Excellent, young bat.

RHP Aaron Blair: Diamondbacks #3 RHP. Blair 13-5, 2.92 in 2 minor league seasons. Future #2 Starter.

We now have all of the D-Backs last 3 1st round picks, Blair (2013), Toussaint (2014), and Swanson in 2015. The Braves have traded 1 year of Jason Heyward for 1 year of Shelby Miller, 6 years of Tyrell Jenkins/Aaron Blair/Dansby Swanson, and 5 years of Inciarte.

If these boys play to their potential, this is the best trade the Braves have ever made. Heyward who? We now have the best farm system in baseball, and it isn’t even close. I told ya’ll Coppy knew what he was doing.
