The Braves roster is taking shape, and it’s exciting

Oftentimes, teams take things slowly with their young players, especially at the beginning of the season, but not this year’s Braves squad. As the season approaches, the roster has taken shape, and Brian Snitker confirmed today that all three of William Contreras, Spencer Strider, and Tucker Davidson will be on the Opening Day roster.

I love this approach by the Braves. Following their first World Series since 1995, they aren’t holding anything back and are putting their best foot forward.

Strider is probably the most exciting of the three with his 100 MPH fastball and wicked slider. He could be used as the team’s sixth starter or out of the bullpen. Davidson will also be used in a similar role. However, I’m also really excited to see what Contreras brings to the table. He left a lot to be desired behind the plate last season, but that won’t be his job this year, and his bat adds a little something extra to the roster. Expect to see him in the outfield at times and as a designated hitter. The Braves might also give him a look at third base.
