Atlanta Hawks

The Hawks made their first free agency splash last night, inking Dewayne Dedmon to a two-year deal worth $14 million. Dedmon spent last season with the San Antonio Spurs organization and excelled as a defender and rebounder. Given the Hawks lack of size, it is very possible Dedmon goes from quality backup to full-time starter in his move to Atlanta. Click here for more details on the signing

The Hawks’ summer league team plays the New Orleans Pelicans summer league squad at 4 ET in their first game of the summer league tournament. The team is 2-1 so far in summer league and previously beat the Pelicans, 84-82, last Sunday.

Atlanta Braves

The Braves All-Star break continues, as the best in the NL took on the best of AL last night. One man not taking a break is the Braves lone all-star, Ender Inciarte. He closed out the game as the center fielder for the National League and had two at-bats with the game on the line. Unfortunately, he went 0-2 in those at bats, and it was Robinson Cano who came through with the knockout blow. His solo shot in the top of the 10th inning sent the American League home winners again, 2-1.

Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta’s new stadium is finally set to open for the Falcons this season. One of the most interesting aspects of that new stadium is the low concession prices owner Arthur Black promised to the fans. The Falcons confirmed yesterday the official prices of some their most popular items.

Not exactly the best value in the city, but when considering the outrageous pricing of today’s stadium food, it is nice to see Falcons fans, who will now be paying a much pricier ticket, can at least eat and drink during the game without putting a hole in their wallet.

Atlanta United

While the United remain on break for the duration of the Gold Cup, we at SportsTalkATL came up with a collaboration of the team’s best goals of the season.
