Top 10 Braves of All Time: Number 10

Andruw Jones was born in Curacao and signed with the Atlanta Braves at the young age of 16. Jones was called up late in the season by the Braves in 1996. In the 1996 World Series, Jones showed off his enormous potential by hitting a home run in his first 2 career World Series at bats. Jones became the youngest player in MLB history to hit a postseason home run. Jones was never a high average hitter at the plate, as he only hit over .300 once in his career, but his power and spectacular fielding electrified fans at Turner Field for years. Jones has 434 career home runs and a ridiculous 10 golden gloves to his name. His greatest year came in 2005, where he hit 51 home runs and led the National League in RBIs with 128. He finished second in the NL MVP race to Albert Pujols. He followed up his huge 2005 campaign with another one in 2006. Jones hit 41 bombs and drove in 129 runs in a contract year. Jones hit the market that offseason, and signed with Dodgers for about 18 million dollars over 2 years. He struggled tremendously with the Dodgers and was eventually shipped to the Texas Rangers. From there, he bounced around the MLB including 2 stints with the New York Yankees. He never hit more than 20 home runs in a season after leaving Atlanta. Although his career did not go as planned once he left Atlanta, his time as an Atlanta Brave will always be fondly remembered. Jones was a young budding talent coming out of Curacao and turned into one of the greatest to ever wear the Braves uniform.
