The latest All-Star voting update has been released, and Trae Young still leads all Eastern Conference guards in votes. Although, it’s not by much.

Young holds a slight edge – less than 40,00 votes – over Kyrie Irving for the top spot, and Kemba Walker is about 20,000 votes behind Irving for the second spot, so while it’s exciting, there’s still work left to get Young into the game as a starter. Voting concludes on January 20th.

Young made another case for the Eastern Conference’s best point guard last night, dropping a 40 point triple-double against the Houston Rockets. Unfortunately, James Harden was just as effective, matching his performance stride for stride, as the two became the first pair of players to have 40-point triple-doubles in the same game.

Young is averaging 29.2 points on 44.5% shooting and 37.5% shooting from distance, 8.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds on the year.
