With the series tied 1-1, the 76ers visit the Hawks in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on Friday, June 11th, at 7:30 PM ET on ESPN. Most betting sites have the Sixers as -1.5 favorites in the first game of the series in Atlanta, but the interesting movement is on the series odds.

Atlanta opened as underdogs at +165 to win this series, while Philly was the favorite at -215. Things shifted when Philly fell to the Trae Young-led Hawks 128-124 on Sunday; the 76ers were only -118 favorites according to FanDuel and -132 according to Betonline after the good guys took a 1-0 lead in the series.

The first game loss came with Joel Embiid on the floor and De’Andre Hunter out. It was Embiid’s first time playing in six days since suffering a meniscus tear in Game 4 of Philadelphia’s first-round series with the Washington Wizards; Embiid led all scorers with 39 points on 12-for-21 shooting (14-for-15 on free throws) and added nine rebounds, four assists, and three blocks. In Game 2, Hunter was still out, and Embiid played lights out, tallying a career-playoff-high 40 points to help the Sixers even the series, which has affected the odds greatly.

According to FanDuel, Philly is -230 favorites to take the series and Atlanta is +190 underdogs — the best odds the Sixers have had all series. The good news for Hawks fans is oddsmakers see this series going to a Game 7 as the 76ers in seven is the most likely outcome at +250 odds, followed closely by Philly in six at +300 odds and five at +360 odds. The most likely outcome for Atlanta is taking the series in Game 6 at +490 odds.

Betonline has slightly more friendly odds with the Hawks as +185 underdogs to take the series. FanDuel gives the series an equal chance to go six or seven games at +145 odds. The Hawks will need to inspire confidence amongst themselves with news that Hunter is out for the rest of the season. Trae Young must galvanize the troops because winning Game 3 is imperative in any scenario of taking the series.
