Vince Carter has taken a different path than most veterans in the NBA that hope to hang on the coattails of stars for a championship ring. Instead, he has gone from city to city looking for one thing, opportunity.

No, chasing championship rings has never really been Vince Carter’s “thing”. He wants to be in a place where he can still leave his mark not only on the basketball floor but on the younger generation as well. And there is no better place to do that in 2018 than Atlanta.

Atlanta will be Carter’s eighth team over his illustrious 20+ NBA career, and according to Air Canada himself, he is “90-something percent” that this will be his final season in the league.

Despite the fact an NBA Championship ring alluded him, Carter’s impact on the game, especially in Canada, puts him comfortably in the Hall of Fame. 25,000 career points and being perhaps the best dunker in the history of basketball does not hurt either. To this day, nobody has put on a better show at the Dunk Contest than Vinsanity.

For Hawks fans that do not have much of a product to look forward to on the court this season, acquiring a legend entering the final season of his career might just be enough to keep people entertained.

I know I cannot wait to see the 41-year old Carter put a young buck on a poster.
