The Braves brought back an old friend on Sunday afternoon. It seems like forever ago that Preston Tucker was on an absolute rampage to start the year with Atlanta. Tucker had to go on to accept a bench role with the rise of Ronald Acuna Jr. and was later traded to the Cincinnati Reds in the Adam Duvall trade. Now, he will be coming back to Atlanta, as he was dealt for cash.
It does not appear that Tucker will be able to play on the playoff roster due to this move being made after the waiver deadline. However, Tucker is cost-controlled through 2023, and give the Braves organizational depth in the outfield.
Welcome back, Preston!
