The Braves made a couple noteworthy promotions today.
First off, Kolby Allard will finally get his first crack at the big leagues. The 2015 first rounder is a top young arm in baseball and his debut Tuesday against the Marlins will be highly anticipated. Hopefully, he can be that last starter the Braves need to make a playoff push.
Last year’s first-round pick Kyle Wright is clearly on the fast track to the big leagues, as he has already been promoted to AAA. The former Vandy star is the creme of the crop as far as pitching prospects are concerned and appears to be in the mix to take over a role with the big league club in 2019.
Another great pitching prospect could be headed to Atlanta as well. According to Mark Bowman, Touki Toussaint may be up to bolster the bullpen in the second half:
There’s a chance Touki Toussaint could also be promoted soon to join Atlanta’s bullpen. So, there might be a flurry of moves this week https://t.co/jDDNdn3RFY
