The Braves got an absolute steal in the 20th round of this year’s draft. CJ Alexander has been nothing sort of special, and the organization has rewarded him with quite the promotion. And although the Braves “struck out” on signing their first-round selection, second rounder Greyson Jenista is performing like one.
Rumor has it that both will head to the A+ Florida Fire Frogs and Alexander will skip low-A ball along the way. Jenista’s status has not been verified yet, but Alexander’s tweet certainly confirms his promotion has in fact occurred:
In 31 games between Danville and GCL, Alexander hit a ridiculous .371 average. Jenista has hit .312 with an .834 OPS in 42 games with Danville and Rome. Both of these guys are entering the realm of becoming top prospects for the Braves, and the Florida Fire Frogs now have an absolutely dominant lineup.
