News broke on Tuesday that Dewayne Dedmon suffered an Avulsion fracture in his ankle last week during a workout. The good news is that this injury is not as gruesome as it sounds, and Dedmon should be able to return before the start of the regular season. They will reevaluate him in a week.
This injury could give rookie Omari Spellman a chance to carve himself a role out early in training camp, and it may give Thomas Robinson an outside shot at making the roster. If for some reason Dedmon were to experience a setback or is not ready to open the season, Alex Len should serve as the starting center.
